Global Head Finance (building towards the next level)
‘Standardization at the inside and tailor-made support to the outside’.
A lot of ground work has been done over the last years in building a solid financial structure. Your job is bringing the finance department to a higher level, with focus on optimization, professionalization and reliable delivery.
Challenges you can tackle are:
• Standardization of the finance function globally (machine room like processes);
• Reliable and speedy execution of financial transactions;
• Improved monthly closures and financial reporting;
• Support proper proposal budgeting;
• Treasury, foreign exchange management, providing fiscal expertise;
• Managing and supporting your team in their personal and financial development.
You will be a sparring partner tot the Executive Board / COO as well as to your colleague MT members on all related finance issues. To the regions across the globe, you will provide a clearer link to programs and projects and you and your department are aimed on supporting and guiding them.
In this role you will report to the COO.

You are a seasoned Finance professional with proven experience in international accounting departments. Preferably you have an post bachelor or academic degree and have an academic thinking and working level. Experience in managing a department and having contact around the globe.
As a manager you combine in depth financial experience with a strong focus on people and culture. Taking people along on the path to the next level.
A status quo does not rock your boat. You need room to help the department and its processes grow and room to grow yourself as a professional. You always aim for timely processes, high quality, impeccable reliability and an accessible financial department.
Knowledge of process automation and IT is a big pre.
You have ample experience with Dutch GAAP and Dutch legislation. Furthermore you are proficient in spoken and written Dutch and English. As you will interact with colleagues around the world, flexibility is key.

Worldwide, Hivos employs approximately 300 people of all nationalities and backgrounds, around 70 of whom work at Hivos' Global Office in The Hague (the Netherlands).
Hivos offers a stimulating work environment in an international organization with very dedicated staff. Global Head of Finance is a fulltime position (36 to 40 hours).
Your work location is The Hague, but working from home occasionally is possible. Hivos is looking for a suitable candidate who can start immediately and is willing to make a long-term commitment. We will start with a one-year contract that will be extended if we are both satisfied with our cooperation and results.
Your salary, depending on your experience, can amount to € 7.500,- gross per calendar month, based on a 40-hour workweek. Travel costs are compensated in accordance to Hivos regulations as well as participation in the pension fund. Furthermore a 8% holiday pay and a 3% end of year-end bonus.
